The Perry County Community Foundation has named Michael D. “Mike” Zahner as its 2025 Humanitarian of the Year, recognizing his decades of service and leadership throughout the community.

Zahner, a licensed land surveyor and founder of Zahner & Associates, has spent more than 45 years contributing to Perry County’s growth.

In addition to shaping the area’s physical landscape, he has mentored future leaders across Missouri and supported numerous civic and charitable initiatives. He has served on the Perry County Mental Health Board, contributed to the development of the National Veterans Memorial, and remained active with St. Rose of Lima Parish and the Rotary Club.

Foundation officials described him as “a quiet force for good” whose work has left a lasting impact.

Zahner will be honored during the 2025 Humanitarian Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Robinson Event Center. As part of the recognition, he will receive a $1,000 grant to donate to a nonprofit organization of his choice.

Ticket and sponsorship information for the event will be announced at a later date.
