Perryville High School students (from left) Kara Hotop, Olivia Iffert, Olivia Bierk, Anna Reagan and Lucy Blythe were the winners of Week 1 of the 40th annual Perry County Republic-Monitor Medallion Hunt. The five girls said they split their team with two on the ground searching while the other three worked on the crossword puzzle at the heart of the hunt. They said the clues that gave away the location were “Jim and Pam met Here,” and “Parcel.” The first clue is a reference to the TV show, “The Office,” while the second was a synonym for package. From these two clues, they deduced the location of the Perryville Post Office. The five hunters split a check for $100. Search today’s issue for clues to the Week 2 location.
