Clients of Johnson and Niswonger Financial, located at 27 W. St. Joseph St. in Perryville, stand outside the office’s locked doors on Monday morning, hoping to find out if they have lost their life savings after purchasing uninsured municipal bonds from the company. Some of the investors read on Facebook that the financial office was visited last week by the FBI, which reportedly confiscated the firm’s computers, cellphones, and all related documents, before shutting down the office until the investigation is completed. Adding more weight to the story were several clients on the scene who claimed they had been visited at their homes over the weekend by the FBI, which requested any documentation they might have regarding the municipal bond purchases.
