SV golf finishes second at state, Strattman takes top spot

St. Vincent golf had a great end to its season, but one indivdual player finished as hihgh as he could.
The Indians took second place in the Class 1 state meet on May 14 in Joplin.
However, the Indians top golfer sent his senior year off in style.
St. Vincent senior Payton Strattman placed first in the Class 1 championship with a score of 146 He is the first St. Vincent golfer to ever finish first overall at the state meet.
The Indians had to battle strmy conditions throughout the week to claim the second place finish.
St. Vincent finished the first day of competition in second place just two strokes behind Salisbury.

Sallisbury (670) ended up winning the state meet ahead of St. Vincent’s score of 681.
Strattman had a banner tournament over the two days as he shot a 72 on day one to hold a two-stroke lead.
Strattman had a three-shot lead entering the final four holes. He ended his run by winning by a seven-stroke margin.
Sam Koishor followed Strattman for the Indians with a 17th place finish and a score of 165.
Adam Brickhaus finished 49th with a score of 183. Garrett Brickhaus finished 64th with a score of 190.
Logan Hornberger finished the Indians’ tournament with a score of 196.
