The February Elks Student of the Month for Perryville High School is Dexter Strattman. He is the son of Chad and Kim Strattman and the grandson of Paul and Donna Strattman; Randy and Ann Koenig; and Linda Ruessler and the late Jerry Ruessler.
While at Perryville High School, Dexter has participated in soccer all four years and has been involved in the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Dexter has received Academic All-State honors in soccer. He said the teachers who have influenced him the most are Mr. and Mrs. Hendricks, Mrs. Ernst, Dr. Cross and Mrs. Koenig.
His future plans are to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau to study nursing and possibly pursue an advanced nursing degree.
