Saxony Lutheran High School will host a ribbon- cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, to celebrate the completion of its new Agriculture Science and Multipurpose Building Project.

The ceremony will take place at the school located at 2004 Saxony Drive in Jackson. School officials, city leaders, students and teachers have shown their support for the new building, which is being called “a significant milestone for the school.”

According to the invitation, the event will include remarks from distinguished leaders, a tour of the new facilities and a reception.

The new structure will serve multiple purposes for the school. It will be used not only for FFA and agriculture classes but also for concession stands and restrooms during sports events.

Saxony Lutheran Principal Mark Ruark said the project was rooted in the school’s commitment to its agriculture science program.

“We became the only private school in the state of Missouri in 2014 to have an Ag, science FFA program and part of that curriculum includes having some shop space to do metal works, some wood working, and we just didn’t have that and that was the real motivation to build a space for the Ag science program but as a small school that relies totally on donations when we build something we like for it have multipurpose uses” says Ruark.
