As of the close of filings for candidacy, seven candidates had filed for Perryville municipal offices at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, the deadline for candidates to file for the April 7, 2026, election.
They are:
MAYOR
One candidate has filed for mayor, a position that carries a two-year term. The mayor’s annual salary is $5,728.73, with annual cost-of-living adjustments tied to those received by city employees.
• Larry Riney, incumbent, has filed for re-election and is the only candidate on file for the office as of press time.
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
Three incumbent aldermen have filed for re-election. Each aldermanic seat carries a two-year term and an annual salary of $3,146.34, with cost-of-living adjustments consistent with city employee adjustments.
■ Ward 1: Deanna Kline, incumbent
■ Ward 2: Curt Buerck, incumbent
■ Ward 3: Clinton Rice, incumbent
No challengers had filed for any of the three aldermanic seats as of Monday.
CITY MARSHAL
Three candidates have filed for the office of city marshal, which serves as the city’s chief law enforcement officer, making it the only contested race thus far. The position carries a four-year term and an annual salary of $102,458, with annual adjustments effective April 1 and tied to the city’s cost-of-living increase policy.

All three candidates submitted the required declarations of candidacy and qualifications within the filing period.
City officials said the final ballot will be confirmed following the close of candidate filing.
