Schnurbusch named Class 2 Region Offensive Player of the Year

The Perryville girls soccer team had some of the best players in the region according to coaches. Five players were named to the Class 2 All-Region team recently. The honor encompasses all players in Class 2 that were in Districts 1 and 2.
Senior Kyla Schnurbusch earned one of the top individual awards as she was named the region’s Offensive Player of the Year. Schnurbusch led the team with both 27 goals and 16 assists and was a major part of the Pirate offense this past season.
“To get one of the top awards is big for the program,” Perryville coach Jerry Fulton said.
Riney controlled much of the midfielder action for Perryville this season as she scored nine goals and had 13 assists this spring.

King was the primary defender that moved back to help replacing Anna Gremaud, who won the Class 2 Defensive Player of the Year. King also had three goals and six assists this season.
Carlie Holdman was big for the offense of the Pirates in the spring. She finished with 13 goals and 13 assists this season.
Rodewald helped control the defense as well and the Pirates gave up 13 goals this season. She also added three goals and five assists offensively.
The Pirates went 16-4 this season.
