Ruth Ellen Hapgood

Ruth Ellen Hapgood, 76, of Frohna, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born October 27, 1947 in St. Louis, to Halley and Dorothy (Tucker) Reed.
She and William H. Hapgood were married on September 21, 1973 in Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2010.
Ruth Ellen was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved quilting, fishing, watching her grand babies, playing scratch off lottery tickets and was loved by many.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Hapgood, Jr. of Frohna, John Hapgood of Perryville; two daughters, Mary Hapgood of Frohna, Donna Vanesler of Godfrey, IL.; three brothers, Charles (Rhonda) Reed of Lake Wappapello, MO, George (Helen) Reed of Crosstown, Ervin (Josita) Reed of Paragould, AR; sister, Donna (Dave) Blechle of Lithium; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Walter Reed.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023 and from 8-10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 10 am at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Phillip Keeton officiating.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
