Rotary’s firework display set for this Sunday

Posted

The night sky will light up with fireworks this year, however it’s just a little later than usual. The Rotary Club of Perryville will host its annual fireworks display this Sunday, Sept. 3 at dusk
The event was postponed from its usual July 4 date as Perry County were currently in a “burn advisory ” during the holiday weekend. The area received enough precipitation and the conditions were right to lift the city’s “no burn” order on July 5. The area had more than two inches of rain that afternoon, which was enough to rescind the ban.
As the region has been blessed with rainfall, and no burn restrictions have been lifted and none retuned since July, the Rotary Club of Perryville along with the City of Perryville, Perry County and dozens of area businesses plan to make it bigger abd better.
Music will be provided by JR Digital Sound. Little Tray’s Kettle Corn will be onsite selling Kettle Corn.
In 2020, in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19 during the pandemic, the club postponed the annual Fourth of July display until September to coincide with Labor Day celebrations.
