President Trump is investing in our nation’s children

Thanks to President Trump and the One, Big, Beautiful Bill — the landmark legislation I authored that delivered the Working Families Tax Cuts — every eligible American child born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, will receive a Trump Account, giving them a meaningful financial head start as they enter adulthood. The Trump Accounts initiative is a pro-family project designed to provide children with a strong financial foundation once they turn 18.

Each account will receive an initial $1,000 government deposit invested in a broad stock-market index. Parents may contribute up to $5,000 per year, while employers may make an annual contribution of up to $2,500 — which will not be counted as part of the employee’s taxable income. This structure provides families with multiple paths to grow each account and maximize its long-term impact.

The goal of Trump Accounts is simple: to give every American child a jump-start on achieving the American Dream. This initiative is built for flexibility. Even before their child can walk or talk, parents will know their newborn has savings set aside for the future — whether that future involves learning a trade, starting a business, or putting a down payment on a first home. No matter where a child grows up — whether on a city block or a gravel road — this policy offers the chance to start life with opportunity.

This week brought more good news for families in southeast and south-central Missouri. President Trump invited me to the White House as philanthropists Michael and Susan Dell pledged to invest $250 into 25 million children’s Trump Accounts — a $6.25 billion investment in the next generation. Their contribution, one of the largest direct investments ever made in American families, will support children aged 10 and under living in zip codes with median incomes below $150,000. This tremendous gift will help millions of young Americans build independence and financial security as they grow.

The Trump Accounts program is proof that this Administration and Republicans in Congress remain committed not only to helping Americans today, but also to preparing the nation for tomorrow. The Dell family’s generosity is expected to be only the beginning. After meeting with business leaders and philanthropists earlier this year, I am confident additional support is on the way. Combined with the Working Families Tax Cuts, Trump Accounts represent a bold vision to put Americans first.

A generation from now, this initiative could dramatically change millions of lives. By giving children a financial foundation from the start, we give future generations the tools to dream bigger, work harder, and achieve more.
