Pirates, Indians perform well at JCAA meet

The Pirates and Indians performed well at the Jefferson County Athletic Association cross country meet in Festus on Oct. 14.
Bair Hopkins was the top Pirate runner and set a new personal record of 17:37 to finish 15 and earned All Conference honors. The same went for Clayton Bauwens, who set a new personal record at 17:54 to finish 18th overall and earn all-conference honors.
Porter (18:32) and Preston Johnson (18:34) finished back-to-back in 29 and 30th overall
Micah Brown set a new personal record at 18:41 and finished 31st, while Zeke Pyland set a new personal record 19:19 to finish 38th overall.

For the Perryville girls, Gwyn Newbrough dropped a 1:10 off of her personal record and finished with All Conference honors in 23:35 to finish 19th overall.
Olivia and Makayla Iffert finished 31st and 32nd overall with times of 25:33 and 25:44 respectively.
For St. Vincent, Carter Hennemann led the way with a time of 17:54 to finish in 17th place overall. Jackson Unterreiner followed in 19th place with a time of 17:56. Braden Pech and Ethan Hotop finished in 39th and 40th place overall with times of 19:29 and 19:33.
For the St. Vincent girls, Abigail Kirn finished with a time of 23:53 to finish 22nd overall, while Reagan Meyer was 24th with a time of 24:16. Kennedy Sutterer finished 37th overall with a time of 27:32.
