The Perryville girls basketball team finished well in Fredericktown.
Perryville fought back from a double-digit deficit to defeat the host Blackcats 38-33 in the Fredericktown Tournament Sat to claim third place.
Perryville was led by senior guard Kyla Schnurbusch who had 25 points, while Brooklyn Moll had six for Perryville. The Pirates didn’t start out well falling behind 12-4 after the first quarter, making just one shot in the frame.
The Pirates played even with the Blackcats in the second quarter, but started making progress after halftime.
The Pirates outscored the Blackcats 11-3 in the third quarter and 24-11 in the second half.
The Pirates (3-1) will take on Dexter Thursday at 7 p.m. as they continue their season
