Perryville boys win Woodland meet

The Perryville boys cross country team continues its tremendous season. The Pirates won yet another race as they finished first at the Woodland Invitational. Perryville finished tied with Woodland with 50 points, but won the tiebreaker of average finish time.
The Pirates had four runners finish inside the top 20 as Clayton Bauwens finished fifth (18:03), Bair Hopkins finished 7th overall (18:03.7), Porter Johnson finished ninth (18:28), Preston Johnson finished 12th (18:40) and Micah Brown finished 19th (19:09). Ezekiel Pyland finished 29th overall in the race with a time of 19:54.
For the Saxony Lutheran boys, Seth Mueller was the top runner coming in 34th place overall with a time of 20:21 and Jesse Schupp was behind him in 38th place with a time of 20:54.

In the girls race, Myra Roth finished eighth place with a time of 23:45 and Faith Dreyer was 13th overall with a time of 25:22.
There were no girls in the varsity race at Woodland, but they sure did well in the JV race. The Perryville girls had six finish inside the top 10, including each of the top three. Lucy Blythe won the race with a time of 24:16, while Gwyn Newbrough was second (24:44) and Olivia Iffert was third (25:11)
Anna Rehagen finished eighth (26:28), Makayla Iffert ninth (26:42) and Miley Reed 10th (26:47)
