The future of flight will take center stage when P.E.O. Chapter GF hosts “The Sky’s the Limit,” a fundraising event blending education, inspiration and hands-on demonstrations.
The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seabaugh Polytechnic Building on the Southeast Missouri State University campus, 985 Greek Drive. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult.
Organizers say the afternoon will provide a unique chance to see how drones are changing the world — and even to take the controls. Guests can experience live drone demonstrations, try their hand at flying drones, and explore cutting-edge technology through flight simulators and an air traffic control simulation.
The evening will conclude with a drone finale at dusk.
Chris Mattingly and Elizabeth Gibbar of Perryville, members of the local P.E.O. chapter, said the program highlights both fun and a deeper purpose. Proceeds support P.E.O.’s educational projects, which provide scholarships, loans and grants to women pursuing higher education.
“It’s a chance for people to get hands-on with something exciting and new, while also helping women pursue their educational goals,” Mattingly said.
Gibbar added that the collaboration with Southeast Missouri State University helps showcase innovative programs while supporting a mission close to their hearts.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the event.
