There was plenty of excitement for the Perryville girls basketball team on Thursday.
Perryville senior Brooklyn Moll hit the game-winner in the final seconds to lift the Pirates over DeSoto 58-56 on Perryville’s Senior Day.
Could there be a better way to celebrate senior day for the only senior on the roster?
Not only did Moll connect on the game-winning shot, she made plenty more against the Dragons.
Moll scored a career high 38 points in the game to lead Perryville. That point total is one of the biggest in Perryville’s program history. Moll went 15-23 from the free throw line in the game. Probably one of the more impressive aspects of the game was that she scored of that with just a single made three-pointer in the contest.
Perryville defeated DeSoto 56-44 back on Jan. 4. This game was much tougher for the Pirates as the Dragons led by two after the first quarter and it was tied at the half.

Moll was aided by Aby Amberger’s 10 points, while Caroline Gremaud had five.
DeSoto had three players in double figures in the loss.
Pirates roll
The Pirates continued to cruise on Monday night when they rolled past Windsor 60-33. It is just the fourth time this season that Perryville has hit the 60 point mark.
Perryville had a modest 33-21 lead at the half and then pulled away in the second half, allowing just 12 points. Perryville had three players in double figures starting with Brooklyn Moll with 19. Aby Amberger had 11 and Caroline Gremaud had 10.
Perryville improved to 14-6 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.
