PARK HILLS — Mineral Area College has announced that its MAC Tech Automotive Technology program has received accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation.

The designation recognizes programs that meet national standards for automotive technician training.

To achieve accreditation, the MAC Tech program underwent a rigorous evaluation process to ensure its curriculum, facilities and equipment align with industry standards set by the ASE Education Foundation. College officials said the certification confirms students are receiving an education that is current, relevant and respected within the automotive industry.

“We compliment MAC Tech for attaining the level of excellence recognized by the ASE Education Foundation,” the foundation said in its official notification. “Both the educational and automotive communities should be proud of your commitment to a quality automotive training program.”

College leaders say the accreditation strengthens the connection between classroom instruction and real-world careers. Students gain skills aligned with employer needs, while local repair facilities and dealerships benefit from a pipeline of trained technicians.

Key benefits of the accreditation include national recognition of the program, an up-to-date curriculum that reflects evolving vehicle technology, and improved career readiness for graduates entering the workforce.

Automotive Technology instructor James Whaley said the designation also opens additional nationwide scholarship opportunities for students enrolled in the program.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Automotive Technology program’s fall cohort, which begins in August.
