Leona Bohnert, formerly of Perryville, MO, recently passed away. She was the daughter of Leo and Bessie (DeClue) LaHomme.

Leona Virginia “Annie”, Bohnert, 94, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on 8/26/26 following complications from surgery.

Leona had many jobs throughout her life, including soda jerk, switchboard operator & secretary. But of all the roles she held, her favorite was being a mother. Raising her 8 children who were her pride and joy, was her greatest accomplishment.

When life dealt her husband, Donald, a difficult blow, she stepped into the role of caregiver. With grace & determination she provided love and support not only to Don but to their entire family.

Don & Leona retired to Little Pine Lake in Aitkin, MN where they enjoyed the peace and beauty of lake life. The cabin became a special gathering place filled with family and friends. They also enjoyed many winters in Padre Island, TX where they made wonderful memories. After Donald’s passing Leona made her home at The Legends of Champlin, and most recently Tradition in Brooklyn Park.

Leona is survived by her children, Daniel (Leigh), Ron (Karen), Donna (Reed), Thomas (Tammy), Michael (Karen), Mary (Jack), Duane (Patty), Katie (Bob); grandchildren Molly (Gary), Angie, Ryan, Eric (Caitlyn), Alissa, Kyle (Bethany), Theresa (Travis), Corrie (Michael), Wendy, Camille (Dylan), Leah (Brandon), Tyler (Lynn); great-grandchildren Hunter & Michael, Lily, Layla & Olivia, Sullivan, Vivian & Evelyn, Riley & Dylan, Teagan & Eleanor, Addison & Parker, Oscar & Aubrey and Quinten & Winsten. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Lahomme of St. Louis, MO as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her family will miss the sparkle in her eyes, her sarcastic sense of humor and her unconditional love.
