Leon Paul Gotto, 71 of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast.
He was born May 30, 1952 in East St. Louis IL to Leon John Gotto and Fayola C. (Turley) Gotto.
He worked for TG Missouri as a factory Technician. After retiring, Leon loved spending time with his family and pets Lola and Annabelle. Leon was a storyteller who never met a stranger. He was quick with a joke, and lived to make others laugh. He was a history buff who always remained interested in learning about the world around him.
Leon dressed as Santa Claus for many years. He also enjoyed pressure washing and reading.
He and his wife Debra (Weibrecht) Gotto were married August 17, 1985 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
In addition to his wife, Leon is survived by his daughter Kristen (Logan Northern and Logan’s son Zander Northern) Gotto of Dexter, MO., and Grandson Bennett Northern. Other survivors include sister-in-laws Mary Leah Gotto of Fults, IL., and Angela Gotto of Perryville, brothers, Leslie (Pam) Gotto of Kearney, AZ., Lindell (Marcia) Gotto of Chebanse, IL., David (Kay) Gotto of Columbia, IL., and Wayne (Sharon) Gotto of Perryville, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
