JOIN ICE

Dear Editor

Y’all might not be aware of it, but a young balladeer from nearby northern Arkansas has a song that’s getting a lot of “air” time right now. It’s called “Join ICE,” and it’s not really a recruitment ad. It’s a tongue-in-cheek shot across the bow of that Bushera holdover, gun-wielding, mask-wearing clown show originally tasked with making sure returning tourists weren’t surreptitiously sneaking French wine or Swiss chocolate onto our sacred shores.

Wow! How topsy’s grown. Along with their bosom buddies in what they modestly labeled “the Border Patrol,” they’ve now been tasked to roam just about everywhere — playing bumper cars, checking on the welfare of the elderly in their homes, providing likely long-term “housing” for growing thousands, even a bunch of ’em just north of us in Ste. Genevieve.

Talk about Christian good works. They’re even going into homes and schools everywhere and “seeing after the welfare” of five-year-olds, providing them free transportation from freezing Minnesota to beautiful (semi) sunny Texas! And thanks to the imaginative efforts of our el presidente’s defense attorney — er, deputy attorney general — who’s creatively “reinterpreted” our outdated Fourth Amendment to provide “assistance” (just in case our locks don’t work), they can now break in our doors at their whim.

What terrific examples of the “regime’s” “good works”! And we thought the Grand Old Party was afraid of “big” government.

Who woulda thunk it?

"Well, if you're lookin' for purpose in the  current circus, if you're seekin' respect and attention,

If you're in need of a gig that'll make you feel big,

Come with me and put some folks in detention.

Just last week was kind of tough, I put a kid in cuffs,

I zip-tied a lady to a van..."

And talk about multiple law-enforcement skills: one "agent" just put two 9-millimeter slugs into the body and one into the side of the head of a mother, and two of his allies put nine into the back and body of a young VAICU nurse — admittedly from pretty much point-blank range (hey, couldn't be helped). Last October, one humbly (but not quite accurately) acknowledged to his buddies that he'd put seven holes in "a body" with only five shots because she'd had the gall to honk her horn at them on the streets of Chicago.

“The body” in question — a young Hispanic Montessori school aide — surprisingly survived. Darn the luck.

But hey, they’re courageously pushing forward, if not going “above and beyond,” providing transportation to deceased folks with “self-inflicted” terminal injuries who happen to be in their custody, taking them to local medical examiners all around the nation. Go figure.

And when judges persistently attempt to rein in their “enthusiasm,” it’s unneeded, unheeded “advice.”

Well ... Altogether now ...

"Join ICE ... Ain't it nice? Join ICE ..."

And they've got some gonzo TV ads.
