As we sit here under the beautiful River Tree this morning, we’re especially blessed to welcome our current 145th House District Representative, a wonderfully honest and committed family man and American, Bryant Wolfin, who in the coming months will be helping us explore a number of tremendously important issues for us and our beautiful children.
We expect to discuss such core civic issues to our future as:
What is citizenship?
Should our students know more about our responsibilities as citizens?
Should everyone be allowed to vote?
Should we have term limits for our public servants?
Should we have a legislated living wage for our citizens?
Should we embrace immigration?
Is there an absolute right to any kind of gun ownership?
Is there actually climate change & if there is, what should we do about it?
Should women have the right to abortion?
Can we guarantee health and wellness care for all?
Should we consider ourselves a representative democracy or a republic, and why does it matter?
How can we reform our educational system?
Are we a capitalist economy or a mixed economy?
Should we have a “progressive” income tax?
Is there such a thing as having too much wealth and power?
Are monopolies good for us?
What is swift and fair justice, and how do we ensure it?
Should we as citizens allow widespread legal gambling?
That’s a whole lot for us all to chew on.
And I think we might all be surprised about how much common ground we have as committed and patriotic American citizens here under the River Tree.
Let’s find out in the coming weeks.
