Students at Immanuel Lutheran School are putting their own lively spin on a classic fairy tale as they prepare to present The Rockin’ Tale of Snow White next month.

Directed by Lydia Cook, with assistance from Sarah Moran, Mackenzie Southard and Jennifer Birk-Cook, the production features a large cast of third- through eighth-grade students, many of whom are taking the stage for the first time. The musical promises a fun, energetic retelling of the familiar Snow White story.

Leading roles include Lily as Snow White and Eme as the Evil Queen, with Joel as the Mirror and Hunter as the Huntsman. The seven dwarves — Clara, Sky, Henry, Magnolia, Krew, Drew and Lilly — add plenty of energy to the show, while Kali narrates as the Mother, joined by Cyrus and Vivienne.

In addition to the lead roles, dozens of students are involved in the production, with many taking on multiple parts both on and off the stage. Libby also contributed behind the scenes by helping paint and create props for the show.

Performances will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran School gym at 6 p.m. Friday, April 10, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11. Admission is $5 at the door, and a concession stand featuring baked goods will be available.
