Final 2025 medallion hunt winners split $100 prize

The fourth and final winners of the Republic-Monitor Medallion Hunt are St. Vincent High School students Rylee Robinson, left, and Haley Emmendorfer. After soccer practice on Thursday, the young ladies headed to the newspaper office around 4:45 p.m. to pick up a newspaper, took some time filling out the crossword clues and then began a three-hour search for the medallion. According to Robinson and Emmendorfer, they walked all the trails at Legion Lake but were unable to find it anywhere. On Friday morning they reexamined the clues and began searching again until they moved away some leaves and tree limbs, revealing the medallion. Not only is this the last medallion hunt for 2025, but a new medallion will take its place in 2026 because, if you look closely, you’ll see there’s no more room for the winners to write their names on the back.
