As the holiday season begins to stir, the Mercy Health Foundation Perry is inviting the community to a festive celebration of generosity and goodwill — the Festival of Trees, set for Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at the Robinson Event Center (2411 Walters Lane).
For one special morning the following week — Friday, Nov. 21, from 9–11 a.m. — the foundation will host a “Senior Day” segment of the festival, welcoming guests ages 55 and up to vote for their favorite decorated tree, browse the Festival Sweet Shop and enjoy a scavenger hunt. Admission is $2 per person.
The Festival of Trees has become a seasonal highlight in Perry County, combining a warm, décor-rich atmosphere with a charitable mission: all proceeds support the foundation’s efforts to enhance health care accessibility, fund patient programs and make a difference in local lives.
Senior Day offers a more relaxed, weekday-morning experience tailored to older adults who might prefer browsing in daylight, mingling in a quieter setting, and taking part in special activities designed just for them. Organizers say the addition of Senior Day this year reflects their intention to make the event accessible and inclusive across generations. Attendees on Nov. 21 are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a light breakfast, cast their vote for the “best tree,” then explore the array of decorated trees (each sponsored or decorated by businesses, families or community groups), shop for seasonal treats, take part in a light-hearted scavenger hunt and soak in the holiday ambiance. Organizers note the trees are generally available for raffle or purchase, and many are designed with a local business or community theme in mind.
For businesses and individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities — from “Individual Dinner Tickets” to major presenting-sponsor levels — the foundation outlines several tiers of involvement, making it easy for companies to support the cause while gaining visibility.
As one foundation representative put it, “We’re not just lighting trees — we’re lighting hope, and supporting our neighbors in times of need.” The Festival of Trees is expected to draw hundreds of attendees throughout its run, with Senior Day serving as a friendly entry point for older community members and their friends.
Mark your calendar for Nov. 20 and Nov. 21 and prepare to step into the holiday spirit — all while giving back to your community.
