The Green Carpet is an annual tradition where District 32 staff and Perryville High School Marching Band members welcome new teachers on campus on the first day of New Teacher Workshops. New D32 teachers spend three days in orientation, meeting and collaborating with campus mentors and buddy teachers, being introduced to board members and District administrators, completing onboarding processes with Central Office staff, touring campus facilities, and learning about district technology tools and best practices.

The new teachers also undergo training sessions in proactive classroom management, curriculum and teacher evaluations, communication protocols, district policies, professionalism, safety and security, student confidentiality, and special services.
