Demolition began on the Perryville High School Building on Thursday, July 16. “While we lost the use of this building to the tornado over a year ago, watching the physical walls come down is a an emotional milestone for our community,” the school district said on its Facebook page. “But it is also a vital, necessary step forward. In the weeks ahead, crews will clear a path for the future where we can build a modern, safe facility that will serve our families for years to come.” The district is also reminding people for their safety to stay away from the demolition site.
