Perryville is ready to sparkle. As shop windows begin to glow with garland, lights and holiday cheer, the Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses to help the community shine a little brighter this season through its annual Perryville Holiday Storefront Decorating Contest.
The friendly competition encourages businesses across Perry County to transform their storefronts into festive holiday displays. Organizers say the event has become a fun way to kick off the Christmas season and bring extra charm to the town’s bustling shopping districts.
Businesses have until Thursday, December 5 at noon to complete their storefront displays. To enter, owners simply email their business name to renee@ perryvillemo.com.
The winning storefront will be revealed during the Christmas on the Square celebration on Friday, December 6, one of Perryville’s most popular holiday traditions. The Chamber notes that every Perry County business is welcome to participate. If a business is located outside the city limits, organizers are asking participants to send photos of their finished display.
In keeping with the festive spirit, the top entry will receive a special holiday trophy—and, of course, bragging rights for the season.
The Chamber hopes the contest will inspire creativity, bring families downtown, and help set the tone for a bright and joyful Christmas in Perryville.
“It’s time to deck the halls… and the storefronts,” organizers said. “Let’s make Perry County shine!”
