CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Community Counseling Center (CCC) has announced its upcoming free one-day conference on behavioral health and wellness, open to the public and designed for non-behavioral health professionals and community members.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, the CCC will host a day of inspiration, learning, and actionable insights from leading experts.
The upcoming conference offers a comprehensive exploration of critical topics in behavioral health, including mental health, substance use, suicide prevention, family dynamics, resilience, and overall wellness.
Attendees will hear from nationally recognized keynote speakers, participate in interactive breakout sessions, and gain access to practical tools and strategies.
The event is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively support behavioral health in both their communities and personal lives.
Two renowned speakers, Josh Varner and Rebekah Gregory, will headline the upcoming event. Both speakers bring compelling expertise and personal stories to inspire and empower audiences.
Josh Varner, a trauma-informed speaker and mental health professional, has delivered over 400 presentations nationwide. His session, “Managing the Unmanageable,” offers practical, science-based strategies to reduce stress, prevent burnout, and build resilience.
Rebekah Gregory, Boston Marathon bombing survivor and founder of Rebekah’s Angels, shares her journey of resilience in her keynote, “I Wasn’t Supposed to Survive.” Through humor and strength, she inspires audiences with her story of healing and overcoming adversity.
