An Altenburg man was hurt in a single-car crash that happened at 3:24 p.m. on Route C, a quarter of a mile north of Pocahontas in Cape Girardeau County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place when a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 21-year-old Altenburg man ran off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
The driver, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was taken by EMS to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where he received treatment for moderate injuries.
The Trailblazer, which was listed as “totaled,” was towed away from the scene by Cape County Towing.
ARREST
Bailey E. Colyer, 21, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. on July 9, 2025, by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Perry County for failure to maintain financial responsibility, as issued by the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s Office.
She was detained at the Perry County Justice Center and was eligible for bond.
