There were many matters discussed at the latest Board of Alderman meeting at the end of May. The Board of Aldermen were presented with a new logo, which the Economic Development Authority unveiled earlier this month.
“This logo was presented to the Downtown Perryville Committee and appeared for use by them,” Jones said. “I wanted to make sure all of you did see it. It’s very nice and will really add to our marketing materials for downtown. We used the logo in some of the marketing materials for our home brew block party.”
More than 300 tickets were sold for that May 21 event.
“It was a pretty successful event, there were a lot of people downtown,” she said. “We’re hoping to continue to do more events like that in the future.”
Those interested in turning in a Downtown TIF Grant applications will be able to do so for about the next month.

“We are accepting those until the 24th of June,” Jones said
Showcase
The Missouri Humanities’ is continuing its Small Town Showcase. The city of Perryville is one of 40-plus communities that are a part of this year’s contest. Individuals can go online and vote up to five times for the municipality of their choice.
“It just would provide the city with some extra promotion in 2023,” Jones said. “I think they do some marketing materials and maybe a video or something along those lines.”
Also, as part of her report to the board, Jones requested the addition of a food truck to weekend Cruise In events.
“We would like to revise our application to add a food truck or two to the Cruise Ins in the future, if possible,” Jones said.
