Skate park meeting Wednesday, Dec. 15

A little more than four years ago, in September 2017, a ribbon cutting took place for a newly remodeled playground and walking trail at the city of Perryville’s Feltz Street Park.
That occurred after the old skate park had been demolished. Since that time, many have wondered if the city of Perryville would look to add a skate park elsewhere within the city limits.
Next Wednesday, Dec. 15, a public meeting will take place in the Council chambers at city hall starting at 6:30 p.m.
All interested parties are invited to attend, listen to information from the city’s Park Board and provide input.

“(It’s an opportunity) to provide input into the location of the skate park and also the amenities they want to see,” said city of Perryville administrator Brent Buerck.
One tool used by the Perryville officials in recent years to gather input on future improvements was a citywide survey.
“It’s been very valuable as we seek input from residences on what’s important and needs our attention and focus,” Buerck said.
Robert Heacock, a consultant with ETC Institute credited the city for recent improvements made to parks in Perryville during an appearance at a January 2021 Board of Aldermen meeting to review survey results.
“You’ve done some really cool touches with your parks,” he said.
