Schremp finishes sixth at state

St. Vincent made the most out of their time at state, especially Jacob Schremp.
Schremp had the best day of any of the St. Vincent athletes when he finished sixth in discus at the Class 1 State Meet in Jefferson City.
Schremp threw a personal best 130-8 in the event, which is what coach Angela Hudson wanted heading into the state events.
“Every meet we tell the kids to run their own race,” she said. “If they focus on getting that PR or shaving off just a few seconds and keep building, I’m ok with that.”

The other St. Vincent athletes did that as well, although the physical finish to the season may not show it.
Reese Zoellner finished 12th in the pole vault with a height of 7-8.75 and Payton Unterreiner finished 14th in the 400 meter run at 1:06.38.
Claire Otte finished 16th in the javelin at 89-10.
The Indians sent all four of their relay teams to the state meet and they may not have had the finish they waned.
The 4x100 team of James Unterreiner, Dane Kline, Cruz Reitzel and Clayton Gremaud finished 13th with a time of 46.95, while the 4x800 team of Kline, Jackson Unterreiner, Jace Hemmann and Ethan Buerck also finished 13th with a time of 9.00.95. The 4x400 team of James Unterreiner, Jackson Unterreiner, Gremaud and Kline finished 14th with a time of 3:45.22. The 4x200 team did not finish.
