Rev. Roy W. Bingenheimer

Rev. Roy William Bingenheimer, 89, of Concordia, Mo., died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Born June 30, 1933, in Oak Ridge, Mo., he was the son of the late William Paulus Bingenheimer and Clara Marie Ochs Bingenheimer. He was baptized on July 9, 1933 and confirmed on April 14, 1946 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Mo. Roy graduated from Saint Paul’s High School in Concordia in 1952, St. Paul’s College in 1954, and then from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1959. Four days following his graduation from seminary, June 7, 1959, he married Doris Jean Lohmann. Roy and Doris were married for over 57 years until her death on November 29, 2016. Rev. Bingenheimer served Missouri Synod Lutheran Churches in Wathena, Kan., Waldenburg, Ark, Leon, Iowa, Peculiar, Mo., Cassville, Mo., Lincoln, Kan. and Prairie Grove, Ark. In 2015 he and Doris moved to Concordia.

Survivors include four children: Lucinda Kaye Mehl (Paul) of Concordia, Mo., Rev. Dr. Michael Ray Bingenheimer (Dianne) of Wichita, Kan., Kathleen Ruth Ohlman of Lincoln, Neb., and Jerilyn Marie Schwaller (Paul) of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Wachter of Altenburg, Mo., and Anna Mae Wachter (Allen) of Jackson, Mo.; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and wife; and one sister, Verna Wachter.
Funeral services were Monday, January 23, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with The Rev. Dr. Michael Bingenheimer officiating. Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia.
