Following the Jan. 5 ice storm that hit Perry County, the massive devastation to the community prompted the Perry County Community Foundation to open an emergency grant round to provide relief towards the extensive cleanup costs anticipated.
According to PCCF member Scott Sattler, 501©3 organizations or other IRS-approved entities, such as government entities, school districts and churches, serving Perry County residents following the 2025 Perry County ice storm.
“Applicants may apply for a minimum of $1,000 and up to $5,000 in funding for this emergency relief grant,” Sattler said. “Agencies may reapply for additional grants as needed. Grant proposals are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed weekly on Tuesdays; however, the application will close upon the expenditure of the grant funds for the fiscal year or no later than May 1, 2025.”
The grant is funded by the Perry County Community Foundation and generous community donors. Donations by check can be dropped off at Perryville City Hall or the county clerk’s office.
The Perry County Family Relief Fund was started following the 2017 tornado to provide assistance to local families in need and has been reactivated following the 2025 ice storm cleanup. All donations to this fund will be used to directly benefit the residents of Perry County.
