Leslie and Jean (Mattingly) Hunt were married on Sept. 2, 1950 by Rev. T.J. Brett C.M. at the Church of Assumption (Seminary) in Perryville after a courtship of approximately two years after they met on a blind date. During their 70 years of marriage they were blessed with five children— Lois (Hunt) Miller and her late husband Gary; Lee Ann (Hunt) Lowes and husband Glen; Cindy (Hunt) Besand and husband Roger; Carla (Hunt) Brewer and her late husband Mark; Michael Hunt and wife Jill (Martens), they all reside in Perryville. The couple has 10 grandchildren: Larry Miller and wife Lisa (Robinson) of Beach Park Ill; Chris Besand of O’ Fallon; Emily Besand of Carrolton, Texas, Ryan Besand and wife Jaime (Favier) of Westminister, Colo; Julie (Mattingly) and husband Frank of Perryville; Andy Mattingly and wife Kendra (Fluegel) of Perryville; Lora (Brewer) and husband Ryan Dirnberger of Chaffee; Robbie Brewer and wife Mollie (Bachman) of Perryville; Adam Hunt of Perryville; Alex Hunt of Seattle. Two step-grandchildren Ryan Lowes of Perryville and Shalene Lowes of Walterboro, SC. The couple also has 13 great-grandchildren.
