Br. Richard A. Hermann, C.M., 87, of Perryville passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville.
He was born October 31, 1935 in Weingarten, Mo. to Edward August and Anna Mary (Jokerst) Hermann.
He was a Vincentian Brother. Br. Richard professed vows July 9, 1963 as a member in The Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) in the Roman Catholic Church. He had been at the St. Mary of the Barrens for the last 60 years as a farm brother. He was the Spiritual Director of the Special Disciples Group for handicapped students and an active member of a Charismatic Group in the St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
Survivors include four brothers and five sisters, Bishop Robert Hermann of St. Louis, Norma (Herbert) Fallert of Ste. Genevieve, Patrick (Betty) Hermann of Vinita Park, MO., Patricia (Walter) Curtis of The Villages, Fla., Paul (Marilyn) Hermann of Ste. Genevieve, Roseanne “Rosie” (James) Schmelzle of Ste. Geneveive, Cecilia “Ceil” (Thomas) Adams of Festus, Rowland (Marilyn) Hermann of Ste. Genevieve; Delores “Dee” (Clem) Gegg of Ste. Genevieve; Sister-in-law, Martha Hermann of Ste. Genevieve.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Hermann, Loretta and her husband Marvin Basler; three brothers, Vincent Hermann and his wife Janet, Francis Hermann and his wife Joann, Arthur Hermann.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Apostle of Charity Residence, Mary Mother of God Chapel in Perryville.
Visitation will continue 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Church of the Assumption in Perryville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Church of the Assumption in Perryville with Very Rev. Patrick J. McDevitt, C.M. officiating.
The Rite of Committal will be at Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Congregation of the Mission.
