The Perryville High School campus received significant damage from the March 14 tornado that hit the city. While most all of the buildings in the Perry County 32 School District received some damage, the high school building received the most. The 2025 Perryville High School Prom king and queen, announced at Saturday evening’s prom dance, are Blake Hager and Kara Williams. Other court members included king candidates Carter Blechle, Blake Hager, and Grady Warrant, as well as queen candidates Julia Hotop, Maria Mattingly Hernandez, and Kara Williams. This year, PHS students voted for the king and queen candidates individually rather than as couples.

The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety, which promotes live drunk-driving demonstrations at local high schools like the one above, recently awarded grant funding to 43 schools for Project Prom and other graduation lock-in events. Mineral Area College has been designated a Fiber Optic Association-Approved School. FOA is a nonprofit organization that sets industry standards for fiber optics training and certification.
