With the regular season for spring sports winding down, coaches, players and fans now have a glimpse into what their road in the postseason will look like.
Many district tournament brackets have been released across the state. Several local teams were able to secure promising seeds. Perryville and Saxony Lutheran soccer secured the top seed in their respective districts.
Perryville will travel to Bayless for the Class 2, District 1 tournament where they are the number one seed. Perryville (12-6) earned the number one seed by defeating two seed St. Pius during the regular season. Perryville will open with Soldan International Studies on May 11 at 2:30 p.m. Other teams in the district include (3) Affton, (4) Bayless, (5) Fredericktown, (6) Vashon, and (7) Gateway. Perryville fell to St. Pius last season in the district title game.
Saxony Lutheran (10-4) will travel to Bishop DeBourg High School where they will take on the winner of the game between Valley Park and Hancock on May 13 at 5 p.m. Saxony returned much of the same core of players from the team that finished in Class 1 and looks to do it again this fall.
